New product alert, with a Machine Shop Habitat!
This habitat uses the "Brickfair" standard, which means it will fit with all others built the same way! I built this MOC for my state's LUG monthly MOC challenge, which July's theme was "Minifig habitats."
I had done some work in a machine shop for a few months, so I'm familiar with all the machines, of which I tried to recreate the most commonly used ones in the shop I was in.
Those machines:
A lathe, with gear selector levers, carriage, and tailstock.
A Bridgeport milling machine, with table, z-axis lever, and speed selector.
An upright belt grinder, with a table stand, motor, and workpiece support.
A bandsaw, with workpiece clamps and tilting saw.
A surface plate, with a machinist measuring a finished workpiece.
Stock storage, with two sizes of round stock.
And finally, a desk with a computer, keyboard, to-do list, and office chair.
Not only does this habitat feature the most important machines, but also some decorations and useful items found in every machine shop! On the wall, there are multiple signs and banners for brands like the local pizza shop, Octan, FXX, and a map of the local lake. There's also a newspaper hanging on the wall over by the desk. We all know how messy a desk can be!
There's also a toolbox over by the lathe, possibly because there's maintenance needed on it, and beside the grinder, it looks like someone forgot to put away some square stock and just laid it on the floor!
Anyways, this habitat features a ton of detail for such a small space, and I'm super proud of it!
