New product alert with these three tiny engine MOCs!

These tiny-but-mighty MOCs came about when I finished my Machine Shop Habitat for my state's LUG Monthly MOC Challenge. After I built the machine shop, I decided, as an extra challenge for myself, to make an engine shop in the same style. I didn't enter that into the challenge, but I still had a blast building it. One of the details within the shop was an engine stand, on which was a small V8 (third picture). It was a little hard to make it small enough to be Minifig scale, which the habitat was, while also providing as much detail as possible.

However, I did manage to build one, and that inspired the creation of two more, which I'll explain what they are as I'm sure you're dying to know.

Okay, so the first picture, going left to right, is an Inline 6. Now, you may be thinking, "Wait, but that only has three exhaust pipes coming out the side." And, yes, you're right. That's just because I'm very, very limited as to what I can include with this scale. Of course, six separate pipes on a three-stud long block is just not possible, so I went with three. But it also makes sense if you think about it this way: each stud is two cylinders. Look at the V8, there's two pipes. And, of course, a V8 has four cylinders on each bank. So I think it still makes sense.

Now on to the details of this little engine. It features an air intake, oil filter, crankcase breather, exhaust pipes, and a blue valve cover with an oil fill cap. And of course, it has its own red engine stand.

Now onto the Slant 6, the middle picture. This one is based off the Chrysler Slant 6 engine, and features intake and exhaust pipes, distributor, front timing cover, and angled valve cover. Again, this engine has its own engine stand, although this one is dark gray instead of red.

Now, finally, the V8. I touched on it a little earlier, but now I'll go into more detail. This one features an air filter, exhaust pipes, grill valve covers, and uses some curved parts for the cylinders to add a bit more depth and detail. It doesn't have as many noticeable details as the others, but I think it still looks really cool.

Head on over to the engines page to check them all out!
